South Africa is currently braving a three-week nationwide lockdown to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). During this period all South Africans are urged to stay at home and only go out for essentials like food, medicine and urgent health matters. This strategy will help us protect our health system from being overwhelmed and give us time to prepare to help everyone who will be seriously impacted by COVID-19.

In keeping with the nationwide lockdown, Dr Charles Practice has stopped all face to face consultations. All consultations will be held online. Emergency mental health services remain available in certain private hospitals and government services. Patients will be referred to their nearest emergency room in cases of emergency.
